Must Haves

There are certain things you just need to have with you at college... It's best to be prepared in case of an emergency. And sometims jobs ask you to prove you exist in the weirdest ways... That all said, it may be best to keep irreplacable things at home.

Credit Card

Even if you're not into the whole credit card deal, it's good to have in case of an emergency. I'd recommend trying to get yourself on your parent's account to avoid paying that 20% interest rate.

Driver's License

When just comparing your dashing good looks in your school ID isn't enough, a government-issued ID will always come in handy. Plus, it's just a good idea to have one with you. One that isn't fake in case you ever need it.

Important Documents

Prescriptions

If you have any perscription medications, be sure to bring a copy of your perscriptions so you can pick them up at your school's medical facilities or some local hospital.

Copy of Birth Certificate

Really, the only time you would need this would be for getting a job, or possibly at your school's request.

Bank Account Info

Just in case you ever need money...

Copy of Social Security Card

Now this is one that you may actually be asked for when you apply for a job, or that your school migh task for. It's more important though that you know your social security number.

Passport

Especially if you live near the border, or if you have a study abroad trip coming up, you'll definitely want to consider bringing your passport. But if you do... don't lose it.
